The Jaguar XE: Unlike All The Rest

Drivers in Boston, Norwood, Newton, Brookline, and Quincy, Massachusetts, take heed. A new luxury sedan has arrived, and it's shaking things up. It's name is XE; Jaguar XE.

The all-new Jaguar XE is unlike any of its competitors. The Audi A4, BMW 340i, Mercedes C300, and other compact luxury cars may have been in the game longer. But what the XE lacks in history it makes up for immediately in appeal. But the Jaguar XE doesn't only feature sleek exterior styling and an inviting interior. Probe a bit further, and you'll find ample technology and safety features, not to mention unrivaled performance that only a new Jaguar can provide. Don't believe us? We'll show you just how this new Jaguar model stacks up to the competition.

Adaptive Surface Response, All Surface Progress Control & AWD

Similar to its competitors, the Jaguar XE offers available All Wheel Drive that helps you feel confident in any situation. Both predictive and reactive, Jaguar's all-wheel-drive system uses high-level intelligent driveline dynamics to prevent you from losing traction when possible rather than just trying to regain traction once lost. This works in tandem with Adaptive Surface Response, or AdSR, which recognizes differences between surfaces, again to maximize grip. All Surface Progress Control also helps make the XE easier to drive in any condition. So whether you're trying to get maximum traction at the track or on a snowy uphill ascent, the XE is ready for whatever you bring its way and will tackle any terrain with relative ease and poise.

Technology & Safety

The Jaguar XE has been designed with performance in mind, as you will have noticed by now. What you may not know is that similar to the BMW 3-series, the XE employs a near 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear wheels, which makes it compelling to drive in curvy roads. Plus, torque vectoring helps make the XE predictable in its turning behavior by applying the brakes automatically on the inside wheels, directing engine torque to the wheel with the most grip, simultaneously. Plus, by employing strong Jaguar lightweight aluminum architecture, the new XE manages to both shed weight and achieve high torsional rigidity, keeping you and your passengers safe.

Power & Luxurious Details

The Jaguar XE is a powerful machine. But it's also sublimely luxurious. From a modern push button start and JaguarDrive™ Control to leather sources from only the finest hide suppliers in the UK and Italy, the XE performs as well as pampers. From satin chrome air vents to felt-lined door panel pockets, premium touches are everywhere in the XE. Plus, you get to choose from an array of colors that exude confidence and success, from Caesium Blue to Santorini Black to Firenze Red. There are plenty of available packages to customize your XE to your personal taste, as well. From the Cold Climate Package, which equips the XE with niceties such as a heated front windshield and steering wheel, to the Vision Package, which gives you Adaptive Xenon Headlights with LED signature and Auto High Beam Assist -  not to mention and array of driver assistance technologies - your options for XE personalization are overflowing.

Jaguar XE vs. Mercedes C300

Are you noticing a pattern in performance? The entry-level Jaguar XE offers a 247-horsepower engine as standard fare, which has the Mercedes C300 beat by six horsepower. Plus, the XE is cheaper, starting at just $35,725, whereas the C300 starts at a much heftier $40,250. Step up to the Jaguar XE Premium trim, and you'll dole out $38,325 - still less than the Mercedes. What's more, the Jaguar's 8-speed automatic transmission is much appreciated in contrast to the 7-speed you'll get in the C300. If bang-for-your buck and punch-the-pedal fun are your priorities, you'll feel right at home in a new Jaguar XE

Jaguar XE vs. Audi A4

Both the Jaguar XE and Audi A4 are available in six trim configurations. If, however, performance is your ultimate end goal, the Jaguar XE cannot be beat, with its new Ingenium engine family. Whether you choose the 25t or 30t engine, the Jaguar has the Audi A4 beat both performance-wise and fuel-efficiency-wise. The base "XE" trim comes with a powerful 2.0-liter 247 horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that the 190 horsepower Audi A4 base engine cannot match. Plus, the XE is available in a diesel variant which returns impressive fuel economy - an EPA estimated 32 MPG city and 42 MPG highway, or 36 MPG combined. If you're looking for a diesel option, the XE is perfect.

Jaguar XE vs. BMW 340i

The BMW 340i is BMW's range-topping 3-series. It produces an impressive 320 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque and comes standard with BMW's M-Sport Package. But the Jaguar XE S has it beat in terms of performance, with a 380 horsepower F-TYPE derived supercharged V6. Step inside both cars, and you'll find luxurious features in each. However, the XE offers more regarding in-car tech. Take, for instance, the InControl Pro system. With a 10.2-inch touchscreen and pinch and swipe capabilities, it has an advantage over the arguably antediluvian i-Drive equipped 8.8-inch screen the BMW offers.
